Interview + Giveaway with Angela Castle

Hi Angela! It’s wonderful to have you here.

Yay, thrilled to be here!

Tell us a bit about yourself.  Who is the woman behind the books? Wife, Mom, Daughter…
Very much an average Aussie, wife and mum. I live in a beautiful little country town and I looove chocolate. Basically, I’ve never been able to shut my brain off  when it comes to day-dreaming. I guess it’s only natural to write my dreams down and share them with my readers.

If your family was to describe you in three words, what do you think they would be?
When I asked my three kids (7 and under) Occupied, dreamer, writing.

When did you begin your writing career?
I’ve always been an avid reader and started writing in my teens. I used to write stories for my many sisters, when I was twenty, and left to my own devices all winter, house sitting, I wrote my first full novel. But I never got serious about wanting to be published until a few years ago. After obtaining my first contract with Rogue Phoenix Press I haven’t looked back.

Is there a genre(s) that you’d like to write that you haven’t tackled yet?
I would love to tackle Young Adult romance, but I may have to wait until my kids are a bit older, to road test my stories on them. (evil laugh)

What has surprised you most about yourself as an author?
The positive responses I have received to my stories. I never expected to do so well from something I love to do!

What has surprised you most about the writing business?
Not everyone who sets out to write a book, actually writes it. From what I understand, one in five people succeed.

What book are you reading now?
Vengeance Born by Kylie Griffin

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A chef like my mum. (And yes I did it for over seven years)

What do you like to do for fun and relax?
I love to read, and spend time with my husband and kids.

Describe your perfect hero.
Any man who will help vacuum the floors, wash the dishes and gives great massages, is a legend! (Of course it helps if he’s tall dark, sexy as sin and has muscles and strength to spare!)

Now, about your story, TIGER MINE. What can you tell us about it?
Julia and Mohan, a pair of wounded souls, thrust together by circumstance, some more unpleasant than the other, but they find mutual comfort in each other and an attraction neither of them can deny. Of course, Mohan hides more secrets than Julia, but find together they can weather any storm.

Was Mohan a difficult hero to write? Is so, why?
I think many have a soft spot for tortured hero’s, myself included. I wouldn’t say he was difficult to write, I fell utterly in love with Mohan and Julia. I found it hard to let go of them when the story ended.

What influenced the idea for this story?
I was sitting on bed one morning pulling on a pair of white and black striped socks, which reminded me of a white tiger.  I wanted to write a cat shifter book and a white Siberian tiger just seemed to fit. Especially in the Australian Bush!

Are you actively working on a new WIP?
Always working on a story, or three, I tend to work on several projects at once.

Speed Round:
Boxers or Briefs? Briefs
Twilight Saga or Hunger Games? Um, kind of Twilight?
Heels or Sneakers? Sneakers
Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate? Someone mention Chocolate???
Ice Cream or Cake? put the ice cream on the cake and I’m happy!

Where can readers contact you? (Social networks, site, email, etc.)
I love hearing from my readers! Find me on

Thank you very much for being here. We all wish you the best of luck!!
Thank you for having me!

Tiger Mine
by Angela Castle

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Licking her wounds after ending a six-year marriage to a serial cheating husband, Julia has run away to her grandfather's house high in the Australian Mountains, hoping to fix the old neglected building up while she contemplates her future. Only to discover a huge white Siberian tiger on her door step.
Tiger shifter Mohan has escaped, jumped ship and is in hiding from the hunter who has ripped him from his world and murdered those he loved. When a curvy Aussie woman turns up at the old house he’s managed to shelter in these past weeks. He offers his services as a builder by day, returning to her by night as a tiger. Despite the strong attraction he has trouble fighting, what he discovers in Julia is a new kind of warmth and kindness he is in desperate need of.
Julia knows her gorgeous Russian handyman is harbouring dark secrets, but can her heart stand falling in love and losing again? Can they help each other mend the deeper issues which plague their lives? And bring hope of a new future. Or will Mohan’s past hunt him down and tear the new fragile bond between them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Excerpt:
She scrubbed harder on the same spot, over and over, not really paying attention to what she was doing. A sudden knock at the door made her jump out of her skin.

"Crikey, James and Joseph!" Her heart still pounding in her chest, she climbed to her feet. She hadn't heard any car approaching. Who the heck could be at her door? Pink rubber gloves still encased her hands as she marched through the house and yanked open the front door.

Julia was stunned. She wasn't sure what the right word was, but beautiful was the only one that came to mind as she stared up into a pair of clear, pale blue eyes. She was instantly reminded of her tiger lodger. The man's ink-black hair hung to his shoulders, and he looked liked he'd been swimming. His skin was slightly pale, as if he was unaccustomed to being in the sun. His high, narrow face with symmetrical, angular cheekbones gave him a regal look. His slender nose and full masculine lips, made her wonder if they were as pillow soft as they looked. Where the hell had that thought come from?  She swallowed, noting his strong, square jaw gave him a sense of strength and power. At first glance Julia would have guessed him to be in his late twenties, maybe early thirties.
Remembering to breathe, Julia sucked in a breath and realized she'd been staring like an idiot. Her gaze dropped to his rumpled, worn clothes. The shirt had most certainly seen better days. The dark blue and black, square-patterned shirt did nothing to hide the fact the man was built.

Author Bio and Links:
I am a full time mother and part time writer. I live in a small country town in Victoria Australia. I have been writing ever since I learned to read, and almost endlessly drifting off into the fantasy world of my imagination.

Thankfully, I have a great group of supporting writer friends; a husband and three currently small children who help keep me grounded.

When I’m not day dreaming of creating new worlds for my stories or madly typing away on my laptop. I have plenty to keep me busy on the home front.
